Reykjanes hike
The Reykjanes cliff on the Atlantic seashore (a 45-km drive) is our primary destination. During the leisurely two-hour walk we will experience the sharp contrasts of ice-cold Atlantic ocean waves and boiling hot springs, fumaroles and mud pools. Gunnuhver, one of the largest in Iceland, is also the reputed resting place of a hostile ghost called Gunna, which might explain the disturbing smell!

On we go to smoking fire craters surrounded by lava fields. Imaginations drift as we wander around in the wild, untamed nature – though we’re only 30km from the city, and 5km from the nearest village. To finish your day, then there is a perfect opportunity to take a relaxing bath in the picturesque Blue Lagoon topped off with dinner on site.* Don’t forget to bring good shoes, a towel and bathing suit!
